Well, this is certainly interesting. I'm glad I didn't have to explain everything again, kudos to you King.

I used to be a mod as well. It was ridiculous. I could have deleted everyone's accounts in about a minute.

Which is another reason Moderator is no more. What if a mod got hacked? About half of the active population back then was a mod. What if a hacker decided to hack one of their accounts? Mods had too much power, they could ban, IP ban, delete, edit the forum...too much power for the forum's safety.

Another issue was that the mods had almost unlimited power, more that Lieutenants, and after a certain someone abused their power, we had no choice but to demote/remove all moderating ranks from the site. Of course, now that we need someone with permissions...

This just makes me wonder why I haven't gotten promoted to Lieutenant yet. I don't mean to sound like a snob (watch me sound like a snob lol), but I have been here through the thick, thin, and everything in between that. And to think that only recently I got my promo to Soldier...
I can understand. I used to be a mod and I had like more powers than a general..

This probably came around to you as pretty dickish, and I can't blame you. I just wish that I had gotten the promo.

I was just stating that it generally isn't good to to abolish moderators in the long run. But I can see why it might have happened with increases of activity.

In the Staff's defense, this decision was made at a time when Hash and Peacekeeper were active, and we were getting new members.

That was...a bit of a mistake then..

Plus all of our active staff members that have powers are gone.

I'm not in control of these forums. I can't do anything involving making the Moderator an official rank or making anyone a Moderator. We need Becky to come back, though. I can understand that real life is more important, but I daresay that these forums need an admin.

No, we did, but it got taken away in February, since we were active and stuff. Now that Becky is gone and we're losing activity, we need to either do:

1) Promote some of the active staff
2) Reinstate the Moderator rank

You didn't have a moderator rank before?

Just think: Becky's been really busy with no one to run the forums, no one to deal with the important stuff. We didn't really need moderators before, but now would be a good time, if any, to reinstate the Moderator rank.
